Since Citizens Bank Park opened in 2004, Harry Kalas, the legendary, long-time play-by-play voice of the Phillies, has had his name displayed in left field. Now, it is “outta here.”

The Harry the K’s area below Phanavision in the upper level of left field has been renamed the Ghost Energy Deck, the Phillies announced on Thursday. Ghost is most known for its energy drinks and protein powders. The Phillies defined the area as “a vibrant, high-energy destination at one of the ballpark’s most exciting viewpoints.”

Harry the K’s was originally Harry the K’s Broadcast Bar & Grille on the 100 level in left field behind the bleachers, along with the upper deck in left just under the scoreboard. The lower level was renamed to the Miller Lite Liberty Landing in 2021 and became a bar area with seating. Harry the K’s namesake remained for the general concession stand upstairs. That changes next Thursday when the Phillies open their season against the Texas Rangers.

Kalas is one of MLB’s best broadcasters of all time. The Phillies hired him to be a play-by-play broadcaster in 1971, the same year Veterans Stadium opened. Kalas opened both the Vet and Citizens Bank Park and left lasting memories up until his passing in April of 2009, when he collapsed in the broadcast booth in Washington, D.C. Kalas was honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame as the Ford C. Frick Award winner in 2002.

The Phillies will still play Kalas’ High Hopes after every win; his statue remains in the same spot, which was once next to Harry the K’s, and the TV broadcast booth also remains named after Kalas, Brian Kling, head of corporate sponsorship with the Phillies, said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The name change of one of the ballpark’s most iconic sites comes with an array of corporate installments to Citizens Bank Park. In 2024, the Phillies digitalized the Out of Town Scoreboard in right field to show advertisements. Last season, the ribbon boards were extended to surround the entirety of the lower bowl for more ad space, along with covering the flower bed in left with an Asplundh sponsor.

Sports have become more and more corporate over the last few years. The Pittsburgh Pirates faced backlash in April 2025 for replacing a right field wall tribute to Roberto Clemente with a Surfside iced tea advertisement. Following public outcry, the team reinstated the Clemente honor.

It is another instance of corporate branding replacing something deeply tied to a franchise’s identity. Kalas is an icon. When you think of the last 55 years of Phillies baseball, the voice you hear is Harry’s. This is certainly an interesting decision by the Phillies, and Ghost sure will not receive good PR from this.

The trend continues, and the ballpark’s spark continues to dim.

Along with this, the Phillies, as they do every year, announced some new food options:

  • Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers (Home Plate – Section 126)
    • Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers also has Chickie’s & Pete’s serving steakburgers, sides, frozen custard, crabfries, and chicken tenders.
  • Coca-Cola Home Plate Grab-N-Go Market (Home Plate – Section 126)
    • ShakeShack behind home plate has been converted into a grab-and-go marketplace powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. Fans can pick up drinks, snacks, and hot food and return to their seats without waiting in a traditional checkout line. You will figure it out after a couple of uses.
  • Sanchez Sliders (Coca-Cola Corner – Left Field Plaza & Cadillac Hall of Fame Club)
    • Created in partnership with Cristopher Sanchez, this sandwich includes two honey-glazed chicken tenders coated in a house-made hot spice blend, served on potato rolls with Grillo’s Pickles, garlic aioli, and Mike’s Hot Honey. A portion of the proceeds will support Clínica de Familia, a nonprofit healthcare clinic in Sanchez’s hometown of La Romana.
  • Schwarbomb Sundae (Coca-Cola Corner Treats – Left Field Plaza)
    • A shareable sundae inspired by Kyle Schwarber, featuring Richman’s soft-serve topped with a funnel-cake-fried strawberry Uncrustable, strawberry sauce, and fruity cereal pieces, served in an All-Star Game batting helmet. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, supporting first responders, military personnel, and their families.
  • The Sweeper (Campo’s – Ashburn Alley)
    • Created in partnership with Jesus Luzardo, this ribeye sandwich will be sold only on days he starts at Citizens Bank Park. It features ribeye steak topped with pizza sauce, provolone cheese, and pepperoni. A portion of proceeds will go to The Luzardo Family Foundation, supporting children’s health, wellness, and underserved community programs.
  • Bull’s BBQ Sampler Platter (Left Field Plaza)
