A fun tradition of mine every season is taking a look at the Phillies’ giveaway schedule. It is one of the quiet highlights of every baseball season. Hats, bobbleheads, shirts, magnets, and typically something completely random. Some of them are great. Some of them are questionable. And a few of them make you wonder what the promotions team was thinking.

The 2026 schedule is out. There is a little bit of everything — and, to a certain extent, also a little bit of nothing. Here are my rankings of all 19 giveaway items at Citizens Bank Park this season:

DISCLAIMER/CRITERIA: I am not including theme night ticket exclusives, BOGO hot dog nights, concerts, kids/seniors run the bases, firework nights, or Alumni Weekend in these rankings. Those are promotions, not giveaways. These rankings are based on my personal preferences. I tend to favor clothing items, and I am always a big fan of bobbleheads. If a giveaway is available to all fans, it will typically rank higher on my list. The Phillies also add some giveaways as the season goes on, so this is the initial list displayed before Opening Day. All photos are courtesy of the Philadelphia Phillies.

19. Thursday, March 26 vs. Texas Rangers (Opening Day): 2025 NL East Champions Pennant, All fans

I know this is the standard Opening Day giveaway a year after something is won, but still, who wants this? I will be at the game, and I might vomit all over the flag once it is handed to me. Winning the NL East is a great accomplishment, but ultimately, it did not lead to any postseason success. We will remember 2025 for the offense going silent again and Orion Kerkering‘s error in Game 4, not that the Phils won the division. I am sorry, but no one is asking for a division champion flag. The Phillies should have given away a white flag on 2016 Opening Day in honor of Bob McClure waiving the white flag against the Baltimore Orioles in the middle of a game in 2015.

18. Sunday, June 21 vs. New York Mets: Men’s Cap, Men 15 and over

Talk about vomit. This might be the most boring hat of all time. This giveaway is modeled after Fanatics’ “Clubhouse Cap” collection. At least those are the team’s colors. Does it get any more dull than gray? This is peak minimalism. We have to make it stop. Again, I am asking, who wants this? Why would anyone want a Phillies hat where you need a magnifying glass to see the logo? Not just that, it is all gray. This is a little disrespectful to the fathers. I know we can do better.

17. Sunday, May 24 vs. Cleveland Guardians: Phanatic Children’s Book, Children 14 and under

I get this is for children. When I was a youngster, I certainly would have been less than thrilled to receive a book when going to a baseball game. I loved the Phanatic as a kid, as I still do, but I detested reading. I do not know many kids who would be excited to get a book at a game. Now, this story is adequate to sell to schools to give to young students, but not for a baseball game. The kids want toys and shirts, not books.

16. Sunday, September 27 vs. Tampa Bay Rays: Fan Appreciation Day 2027 Schedule Magnet, All fans

The Phillies have not officially announced that the fan appreciation day’s giveaway will be next season’s magnet, but if you have gone to the last home game for at least the last decade, as I have (every single one by the way), you are getting the 2027 schedule in some fashion. These are great. My 2026 one has been on the fridge since October. But the only downside is that there are no game times on them. The magnets also do not identify certain events, like the Phillies going to Iowa in 2026, because they are printed too far in advance. They are a classic, but there is a better version of it.

15. Sunday, July 26 vs. New York Yankees: Philadelphia Water Ice Phanatic Cap, Children 14 and under

The cap is good for kids, but it just feels like there is too much going on. The Phanatic weaving in and out of the Phillies lettering is not exactly appealing to the eyes. The cream top and red brim are kind of nice, though. This picture might not be doing the cap justice.

14. Saturday, May 9 vs. Colorado Rockies: Phil & Phillis Socks presented by Terminix, Children 14 and under

These socks are awesome. I am as big a Phil and Phills guy as the next. I think they should be much more prominent than they are, especially this season, for the semiquincentennial. Again, I get it, these are for children, but no one is wearing these. When, where, and why would anyone rock these? I see the vision, and I appreciate the Phillies’ promotions team for trying. At least they are not gray like that Father’s Day cap.

13. Sunday, March 29 vs. Rangers: 2026 Schedule Magnet presented by Valley Forge & Montgomery County, PA, All fans

Here is the magnet with the times and the Iowa indicator. I do think Kid’s Opening Day should be moved back to the first home Sunday like it was in the past, rather than the magnent. Give the magnet out on Opening Day; it might make it more suitable than the aforementioned NL East flag.

Give me the magnet over the flag. In fact, give me anything over the flag.

12. Tuesday, July 21 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers: Chick-fil-A Phillies Big Chain, Children 14 and under

A giveaway for children on a Tuesday? What happened to the game I love?

I do not get the big chain fab. Maybe it is because I am 18 years old. This chain is nice because it is the best logo in Phillies history, and the sponsor is Chick-fil-A. Other than that, I do not care for the big chain. Sorry.

11. Tuesday, June 16 vs. Miami Marlins: State Farm Phillies Soccer Scarf, All fans

The Phillies are leaning into the World Cup coming this summer across the street. This is a fun concept. In 2024, the Opening Day giveaway was a scarf, and it was the cheapest and thinnest fabric I have ever felt. It did not really accomplish the assignment that a scarf should. But still a clever idea from the Phils.

10. Saturday, March 28 vs. Rangers: McDonald’s Opening Night T-shirt, Fans 15 and over

Hey, our friends Phil and Phillis are back for a 15-and-over giveaway. The Phils really want everyone to be decked out in Phil and Phillis merchandise in 2026. This shirt is nice, but boring. It is two colors, and one of them is grey. (What in the world is going on with all this gray this year?) A little splash of red, maroon, or white would have had this shirt higher on the list, but I do always like the Opening Night shirt. Also, this game is a 4:05 p.m. first pitch. Since when were we classifying 4:00 as nighttime?

9. Saturday, April 18 vs. Atlanta Braves: Independence Blue Cross Trea Turner Replica Jersey, Children 14 and under

The yearly jersey giveaway this season will be 2025’s NL batting champ. I have a couple of these giveaway jerseys; the material is always kind of unsatisfactory, and the screen print is lousy. Still, it is a jersey, and you cannot argue against a jersey. Especially for a kid, they do not care. And we as adults should not either. Still, here I am writing about all 19 of the Phillies’ giveaways.

8. Sunday, June 7 vs. Chicago White Sox: Toyota Jhoan Duran Card Show Bobble, Children 14 and under

These types of bobbleheads started last year. They did a Kyle Schwarber one. Since I am not 14 and look nothing like a 14-year-old, I do not have one. However, it feels wrong to classify this as a bobblehead. It feels more like a figurine. So, due to that, and since it is only for kids (bobbleheads should go to everyone), the Durantula’s giveaway is listed at the bottom of the bobbles.

7. Friday, May 22 vs. Guardians: BradyPLUS Cristopher Sanchez Bobble Figurine, All fans

Here is the first real bobblehead. The reason why I have this at seven: poor Sanchez is in the City Connects. Why are we doing our ace like that? This is disrespectful. At least it looks like him.

Little note on the City Connects: based on the typical three-year cycle for City Connect uniforms, this may be the blues’ final season.

6. Sunday, April 12 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks: Colonial Phanatic Bobble Head, Children 14 and under

The Phanatic’s birthday is like a playoff game for the promotions team. They have to nail the giveaway. This year, they did just that. Finally, you see a little nod to America’s 250th anniversary, and the Phanatic is in a costume you would see a role player in in the old city (those guys are so annoying), sitting atop the Liberty Bell. The Phanatic being a bobble rather than just a figurine, really enhances the giveaway.

5. Friday, June 5 vs. White Sox: Miller Lite Phillies Floppy Hat, Fans 21 and over

This is such a dad hat. I can picture every dad barbecuing in the backyard and absolutely rocking this. How many men in Sea Isle are going to be sporting this July 4th weekend? What a giveaway.

4. Saturday, April 11 vs. D-Backs: Cavity Busters Kids Opening Day Hooded Sweatshirt, Children 14 and under

Good to see the return of hoodies for Kids Opening Day. I used to get really nice hoodies at this game back in the day. They went away from it for a couple of years, but the Cavity Busters logo on the sleeves brings me back to watching the Phillies get walloped in early April while rocking this hoodie. Good times, great giveaway.

3. Thursday, May 7 vs. The Athletics: Retro Phillies Cap presented by SEI, All fans

This is a really nice hat. Super clean retro design. And everyone will receive one. A+.

2. Sunday, May 10 vs. Rockies: Ladies Mock Neck Crew, Women 15 and over

This is the clothing giveaway of the season. What a pristine crewneck. Got to give it to the Phillies, they nailed the Mother’s Day giveaway. What a dud they laid for Father’s Day.

1. Friday, August 21 vs. St. Louis Cardinals: Kyle Schwarber Bobble Figurine, All fans

As a bobblehead connoisseur, how could I not put this No. 1? The sculpture looks just like Schwarber, even the beard is spot on. The design is a call-back to Schwarber saluting the bullpen following his fourth home run of the game on August 28, 2025, against the Atlanta Braves. It was about time they did a bobble for Schwarber, and they did an excellent job with it.

Some thoughts and takeaways…

  • I was pretty disappointed with the lack of American-style giveaways to honor the semiquincentennial. Outside of the floppy hat and the Phanatic bobble, there really is a lot left to be desired. I guess you could say Phil and Phillis tie back to America’s anniversary. Still, more should have been done to honor 250 with some star and stripe giveaways.
  • The Phillies are hosting the All-Star Game in mid-July. If you just looked at the promotions list, you would have no clue. What about an All-Star Game t-shirt, or some sunglasses? Something would have been appropriate.
  • Going off of that, did you remember the Phillies are in the Field of Dreams game in August? How do you not have some sort of Field of Dreams giveaway? What about James Earl Jones’ glasses from the movie with a Phillies logo? Even a piece of corn would have done the trick.
  • There is one t-shirt giveaway. One. I think kids would prefer a t-shirt of the Phanatic as Benjamin Franklin or something rather than socks.
  • I still cannot believe they are giving away an all-gray hat.

  1. Your dissapointment takeaways really bummed me out. Nothing for the ASG or the FOD game. So sad.
