Eagles Re-Sign Tight End Dallas Goedert to One-Year Deal

The Eagles are bringing back their starting tight end.

After pushing back his void date not once, but twice, the Philadelphia Eagles and tight end Dallas Goedert have finally agreed to a new contract, keeping the veteran in Philadelphia for another season. It’s a one-year deal for Goedert, with the salary for the deal not yet known.

This is a huge signing for the Eagles, who bring back one of their most important weapons on the offensive side of the ball for the past decade. Goedert was drafted in the second round back in 2018, making him one of the longest tenured Eagles on the team. 2026 will be Goedert’s ninth year with the team.

It was an interesting offseason for Goedert, who was coming off a massive 2025 campaign in which he set career-high’s in catches with 60 and receiving touchdowns with 11. The 11 touchdowns also set an Eagles franchise record for most receiving touchdowns caught by a tight end in team history.

The former South Dakota State tight end has been the definition of consistency in his nine years in midnight green, being the safety blanket for whatever quarterback has stepped under center for the Eagles. During his time, he’s helped the Eagles make two Super Bowls, winning one, while also setting the franchise record for most receptions in the playoffs in Eagles history with 56, while also sitting second in receiving yards with 595, and receiving touchdowns with five.

Goedert reportedly received offers from other parties, but wanted to return to Philadelphia for another season, and the Eagles, in return, wanted Goedert back. They wanted him back so much so that they pushed his void date back twice to not only avoid a $20 million cap hit, but also prevent teams from officially being able to sign him.

Joining Goedert in the tight end room backing him up is Grant Calcaterra, who also resigned on a one-year deal, while former Jaguars tight end Johnny Mundt joined the team also on a one-year contract. Like this offseason, next offseason every tight end on the Eagles roster will be a free agent.
