The MLB’s Winter Meetings in Orlando are underway. They will take place from Sunday, December 7, through Wednesday, December 10.

Day 3, Wednesday:
2:31 p.m. ET: The Phillies selected INF Austin Murr from the Tigers’ Double-A roster in the Rule 5 draft.
2:30 p.m. ET: The Mariners selected 1B Carson Taylor from the Phillies roster in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 Draft.
2:23 p.m. ET: The Phillies are acquiring RHP Yoniel Curet from the Rays for minor-league reliever Tommy McCollum, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic.
2:14 p.m. ET: The Phillies selected RHP Zach McCambley from the Marlins in the Rule 5 Draft.
2:07 p.m. ET: The Nationals selected Griff McGarry with the third pick in the Rule 5 Draft. He was the only Phillies minor leaguer selected.
1:12 p.m. ET: The Mets never made a formal offer to Pete Alonso, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. “It became clear to them the bidding was heading to places they weren’t interested in going.”
12:55 p.m. ET: Pete Alonso and the Orioles are finalizing a five-year, $155 million contract.
12:31 a.m. ET: “Now the attention turns to free-agent catcher J.T. Realmuto. President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski expressed optimism in Realmuto’s return on Monday. The Phillies have an offer on the table. They are waiting.
“They can’t wait forever, of course, but they also know the catching market is thin.
“What’s next, beyond Realmuto? Sources said Tuesday that if the Phillies re-sign both Schwarber and Realmuto, they do not have the payroll flexibility to acquire another big-time free agent from a group that includes Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Bo Bichette and Cody Bellinger.” – Todd Zolecki, MLB.com
Day 2, Tuesday:
3:00 p.m. ET: The Orioles matched the Phillies’ offer to Kyle Schwarber, and the Reds also were at five years, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Here are the known offers for Schwarber, per Rosenthal:
Phillies: 5 years, $150 million
Orioles: 5 years, $150 million
Reds: 5 years, in the $125 million range
Pirates: 4 years, $120 million
11:25 a.m. ET: The Phillies have extended Rob Thomson’s contract through the 2027 season.

11:17 a.m. ET: Edwin Diaz and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a three-year, $69 million deal, per Will Sammon of The Athletic.
11:14 a.m. ET: Phillies and Kyle Schwarber finalizing five-year, $150 million deal, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

10:21 a.m. ET: Kyle Schwarber will suit up for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic this spring.
10:12 a.m. ET: The Pirates’ offer to Kyle Schwarber was for four years, $120 million, per MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
9:51 a.m. ET: The Phillies have contacted Nationals President Paul Toboni about MacKenzie Gore, according to Talk Nats.
Day 1, Monday:
8:24 p.m. ET: Kyle Schwarber is perceived to be the first of the superstar position players to make his choice, and the Orioles are among those in competition with the Phillies, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.
7:55 p.m. ET: “According to a MLB executive, the Phillies are seriously considering acquiring pitcher Tatsuya Imai (27) from Seibu Lions via the posting system. The team is short on right-handed starting pitchers and fits their needs.” – Daisuke Sugiura (Sponichi Annex), Yahoo! News
5:30 p.m. ET: Dombrowski would not answer a question about the Phillies’ interest in any Japanese free agents. He did say they have a “very good pulse on that market.”
5:09 p.m. ET: Phillies have not yet reached an extension with Rob Thomson, Dave Dombrowski said, but they still have interest in doing so. The 2026 season is Thomson’s final year under his current deal.

5:04 p.m. ET: Zack Wheeler started playing catch last week, Dave Dombrowski said.
4:58 p.m. ET: Dave Dombrowski said the Phillies have “mutual interest” with Don Mattingly for the bench coach job. “It’s not official, but we have really focused on speaking with Don and trying to make that happen, and we’re hopeful that it will,” Dombrowksi said.
4:13 p.m. ET: “[Kyle Schwarber] seems to be the big news early on here. He’s got so much interest and activity very early that I think something possibly could happen here…” – Jon Heyman.
3:47 p.m. ET: The Diamondbacks’ asking price for Ketel Marte is high, with a stress on starting pitchers who are at or nearing the major-league level, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
12:46 p.m. ET: The Orioles are among the teams in on Ranger Suarez, per Jon Heyman.
11:58 a.m. ET: The Phillies are still interested in trading for Ketel Marte and are not a team listed in his no-trade clause, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
11:06 a.m. ET: Phillies rumored to have interest in Japanese 3B/1B Kazuma Okamoto.
Night 1, Sunday:
9:33 p.m. ET: “Schwarber could be the first to sign, though whether he returns to the Phillies remains to be seen. Talks between the two sides have been slow, sources said, though other clubs including the Mets, Red Sox, Orioles and Reds are also in the mix for the slugger.
“The Blue Jays are making a strong push for [Kyle] Tucker, hosting him for a visit at their spring facility in Florida last week. Tucker isn’t expected to make a decision before the end of the meetings, though an aggressive offer from Toronto – which is also hoping to bring back Bo Bichette – could always push that timeline up. [Cody] Bellinger’s timeline could depend on what happens with Tucker, as some of the teams interested in the latter could view the former as Plan B.” – Mark Feinsand, MLB.com.
8:15 p.m. ET: “The Pittsburgh Pirates have made free-agent designated hitter Kyle Schwarber a four-year offer, according to people briefed on their discussions. The offer almost certainly is for more than $100 million,” – Ken Rosenthal, The Athletic.
Rosenthal also mentioned Harrison Bader as “perhaps the third-best outfielder on the free agent market,” who is “said to be expecting a three-year deal.” Max Kepler was also mentioned as a potential target for the outfield-needy Royals
7:16 p.m. ET: Jon Heyman reports for MLB Network. States the Phillies as the favorites for Kyle Schwarber, and also talks about the possibilities of the Mets and Reds.
