Nathan Quinn Completes Flyers’ Toughness Rebuild With 164th Pick

The Flyers wrapped up their draft class with Nathan Quinn, a right-handed winger from Oakville who plays a hard-nosed brand of hockey that gets respect in this city.
Quinn is the smallest of the Flyers’ 2025 class at 5’10”, but that doesn’t mean he’s a finesse player. He put up 23 goals with Brantford last year and showed he can handle tough minutes without a drop-off in play at all. He goes hard on the forecheck, finishes every hit, but still stays glued to the puck.
If there’s a scrum, you’re going to see Quinn in the middle of it. If there’s a loose puck, he wants it. That mindset is exactly why the Flyers’ front office used their last pick to get him.
He is not going to be the flashy highlight guy, but he has the heart and motor to earn his place. Picture him on the third or fourth line or grinding on the penalty kill. He’s the kind of player who is always looking for turnover opportunities, and is playing at his best when he can get the puck going the other way, and stretching the ice, but he is adept at banging in greasy goals. Depth players like that win you playoff games. Daniel Briere obviously gets it.
Stack Quinn up with the rest of these picks, and the plan is clear. Bigger, tougher, and harder to play against will be the identity of the Flyers going forward. Quinn may not have the frame of Matthew Gard or the skill of Porter Martone, but he brings that same edge. Briere wants the Flyers to make opponents miserable again, and Quinn fits that mold perfectly.
Philly fans respect a player who shows up ready to work. Quinn brings that blue-collar mentality. In this draft, one thing is very clear about the future of the Flyers: nobody is going to outwork them.
