Everything you need to know ahead of Eagles’ championship parade

The Eagles are Super Bowl champions, and it is time to celebrate.
With their 40-22 route over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, Philadelphia city officials announced all the details involving the championship parade later this week.
Here is everything you need to know:
When is the parade?
With snow projected on Wednesday and Thursday bringing rain, the Eagles will parade through Philadelphia on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14.
Friday’s projected forecasts are looking frigid, with highs of 37 degrees and lows of 27, including a sunny sky. A cold, but sunny day for the World Champions.
What time is the parade?
The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET in South Philadelphia.
What is the parade route?
The route will be the exact same as it was seven years ago.
The parade begins at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia, traveling down Broad Street toward City Hall, going around Love Park, continuing onto the Ben Franklin Parkway, and ending at the Art Museum.
Players and coaches are expected to arrive at the museum between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., and parade organizers say they will get ready for the ceremony atop the Rocky steps when they arrive. That ceremony, which includes player speeches, will begin at 2:00 p.m. and is expected to end by 3:15 p.m.
Fifteen jumbotrons will be set up along the route to watch the parade and the speeches, officials said. Before the parade begins, the screens will show the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory in its entirety.
How many people are expected to attend?
The city is expected around one-1.5 million people to the parade.
The expected crowd in 2018 varies. Some guesses say 700,000, others say 1.4 million. I tend to believe the 1.4 million guess.
What is so special about the parade is how we all come together, uniting as one: Eagles fans. No matter where you are from, how you were raised, the color of your skin, your religion, your gender, and anything else, we are all united together to celebrate our Eagles.
Will Philadelphia schools be closed on Friday?
Yes. All School District of Philadelphia schools and facilities will be closed on Friday.
Will there be cell service?
Philadelphia managing director Adam Thiel said Tuesday that people should plan alternative communication strategies, as cell service may not be the best with the projected 1 million people in attendance.
SEPTA and PATCO’s services
There are changes to SEPTA’s services for Friday’s festivities.
SEPTA announced there will be free rides on the Market-Frankford Line and Broad Street Line, with service running every six to eight minutes starting at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Friday. A limited number of stations will be open to move the large crowds into the city safely, SEPTA said.
Rides are being covered by Kevin Hart’s tequila brand, Gran Coramino, per SEPTA.
Regional Rail users will be able to use Key cards and passes or purchase a one-day pass for the parade. The one-day pass is $10 and goes on sale Wednesday. It must be purchased before Friday, SEPTA said.
For those of you crossing the Delaware, PATCO will operate westbound-only service from four New Jersey stations: Lindenwold, Woodcrest, Ferry Avenue, and City Hall, with nonstop service to 9/10th and Locust Street from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Starting at 1:00 p.m., PATCO will have eastbound-only services from 9/10th and Locust Street. Normal service is expected to resume at 7:00 p.m.

The parade will be live on all the Philly news channels, including CBS 3, 6 ABC, NBC 10, FOX 29. NBC Sports Philadelphia, and others.
