Everyone take a deep breath.
Jalen Hurts has cleared the concussion protocol, Nick Sirianni confirmed on Friday afternoon. He will start on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field against the Packers in the Wild Card.
Hurts entered concussion protocol on December 22, when he got hit in the head at the end of his 13-yard run in the first quarter by Frankie Luvu in Landover, Maryland in Week 16. Hurts tried to stay on the field, giving the Eagles medical staff a thumbs up, but eventually ran to the sideline.
Hurts returned to practice this week as a limited participant, and was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday. He was officially cleared to return on Friday.
Hurts finished the regular season with a 68.7 completion percentage, along with 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, and a 65.6 quarterback rating.
DeVonta Smith, however, will not be at practice on Friday. He has some back tightness and the Eagles do not want to have him out in the cold conditions at practice. This comes a day after A.J. Brown missed practice due to a knee injury.
Both are expected to play on Sunday.
The Eagles’ final practice of the week will be at Lincoln Financial Field again on Friday afternoon. where they have been all week since the outdoor fields at the NovaCare Complex are frozen.
