This was maybe the last thing we wanted to see this week.
A day after departing from practice early, A.J. Brown did not participate in Thursday’s practice at Lincoln Financial Field due to a knee injury.
Brown has been dealing with a knee injury but the Eagles are not unduly concerned with it. His absence on Thursday is to make sure he is as healthy as possible going into hopefully a long playoff run.
He is still expected to play on Sunday against the Packers in the Wild Card.
Brown missed last year’s Wild Card game in Tampa with a knee injury he suffered the week prior at MetLife Stadium. This should not have Brown missing any time.
Brown’s initial appearance on the injury report as a limited participant with “knee/rest” came prior to the Eagles Week 16 matchup against the Commanders. He played in that game the next week against Dallas before getting Week 18 off. In those two games, Brown has a combined 11 receptions for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Jalen Hurts also participated in practice again on Thursday. He missed the last two weeks with a concussion he suffered against the Commanders, but his chances to clear concussion protocol and play against the Packers on Sunday are very high.
The other two limited players from Wednesday, Kenny Pickett (ribs) and Will Shipley (ankle), practiced again on Thursday at the Linc.
Eagles could be fully healthy going into the postseason, besides Brandon Graham.
