Jalen Hurts to return to Eagles practice Wednesday

Jalen Hurts will return to practice for the first time since his concussion against the Commanders in Week 16, Nick Sirianni confirmed Wednesday.
Hurts has been in concussion protocol since December 22, when he got hit in the head at the end of his 13-yard run in the first quarter by Frankie Luvu in Landover, Maryland. Hurts tried to stay on the field, giving the Eagles medical staff a thumbs up, but eventually ran to the sideline.
Hurts will be on the practice field, but Sirianni said Hurts’ declined to say whether he will have any limitations or not. The injury report will be issued later this afternoon.
“He’ll be out there today. We’ll get you the injury report after practice,” Sirianni said.
Hurts finished the regular season with a 68.7 completion percentage, along with 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, and a 65.6 quarterback rating.
The Eagles cut Ian Book, who was serving as the QB3 with Hurts out, earlier this week. While he has not officially cleared concussion protocol, all indications point that Hurts will play on Sunday against the Packers.
The post-practice evaluation will be critical towards Hurts’ status for this weekend.
