As Reed Blankenship enters his 3rd year in the NFL he reached an agreement with the Eagles to remain through the 2025 season. Blankenship would have been a restricted free agent after this season.

The undrafted safety has made quite a name for himself in the Eagles organization and will be expected to be a key component of the defense in this upcoming season.

He saw his first real action as an Eagle 2 years ago against the Green Bay Packers where he came in for an injured C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Shortly after entering the game, he snagged his first career interception off of Aaron Rodgers. This last year he was asked to play a much bigger role in the secondary due to the departure of Gardner-Johnson in free agency.

In 15 games played, he had 79 solo tackles (leading the team) and 113 total tackles (leading the team). His 79 solo tackles also ranked 23rd in the entire NFL ahead of big names like Antoine Winfield Jr, Demario Davis, and Justin Reid.

Blankenship will only continue to be called upon more as he progresses as a player and the Eagles are hoping to keep him around as long as possible as they rebuild their abysmal defense from a year ago.
