The Flyers, who were playing red-hot hockey going into Monday night’s 5-1 loss to the Penguins, came out of it with a major injury to their hottest skater.

Tyson Foerster suffered an upper-body injury on a slapshot in the second period on Monday, and following his MRI on Tuesday, it was determined he will miss two to three months.

Just 43 seconds after tallying his 10th goal of the season on the power play, Foerster sniped a slapshot at Tristan Jarry. Foerster went down following the shot and immediately grabbed his right shoulder as he skated off in immense pain.

This is a substantial blow for the Flyers. Foerster leads the club with 10 goals and entered Monday night on pace for 31. The 23-year-old also has three assists for 13 points and +/- of +7. Over the last seven games, he has six goals.

His line, which includes Noah Cates at center and Bobby Brink as his opposite wing, and then with Travis Konecny taking up the other wing more recently, has generated much offense for the Flyers here early this season.

Foerster underwent surgery on his elbow this past offseason to address an infection that originated from an injury he suffered playing for Team Canada at the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. He missed four games last month after blocking a shot with his foot.
