São Paulo to South Philly — Eagles host Packers in Wild Card

Both of these team’s roads started in South America, and now one of theirs will end in South Philadelphia.
With the Packers’ last-second, 24-22 loss to the Bears at Lambeau Field on Sunday, they will travel to Lincoln Financial Field to play the Eagles in Wild Card weekend.
The 14-3 Eagles finished as the two-seed, while the Packers ended 11-6 and as the seven-seed, They will either play on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday night. The date and time will be announced after Sunday Night Football.
The Eagles and Packers have met in the postseason three times — 1960, 2003, and 2010. The Eagles beat Vinco Lombardi and the Packers in the 1960 NFL Championship Game at Franklin Field. 2003 featured the legendary 4th-and-26 conversion, beating the Packers in overtime thanks to an interception from Brian Dawkins. In 2010 at the Linc, the Packers took down the Eagles in Wild Card weekend with a Tramon Williams interception off of Michael Vick with 44 seconds remaining.
The Eagles beat the Packers 34-29 back in Week 1 in São Paulo, Brazil. In his Eagles debut, Saquon Barkley rushed for two touchdowns and caught a third. A.J. Brown also made five catches for 119 yards and a TD. Jalen Hurts, however, threw two interceptions.
This Eagles team now is completely different than they were back in September.
The Eagles and Packers only have three common opponents this season in the Rams, Saints, and Jaguars. Philadelphia beat the Rams by 17, the Saints by three, and the Jags by five. Green Bay beat the Rams by five, the Saints by 34, and the Jags by three.
The Eagles have not had a home Wild Card game since 2020, where they lost to the Seahawks 17-9. This was when Carson Wentz was knocked out of the game in the first half with a concussion. Their last home Wild Card win came over the Giants in 2006 with Jeff Garcia at quarterback.
This time, they will have a healthy Jalen Hurts returning, taking on Jordan Love, who injured his elbow Sunday but is expected to be good to go next weekend.
Green Bay also placed top cornerback Jaire Alexander on injured reserve with a knee injury this week. Alexander had an interception against Hurts in the opener.
The Eagles open up as 3.5 favorites over the Packers.
