After dropping an ugly game to the Sacramento Kings, the 76ers lost an even uglier game to the Golden State Warriors 139-105. It was a three-point contest for the Warriors who shot 22-39 threes in the win, as the 76ers had no answer for Stephen Curry and company.

Curry was the leading scorer finishing with 30 points, shooting a perfect 8-8 from beyond the arc, 10 assists, and six rebounds. Draymond Green added 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists while Jonathan Kuminga added 20 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot an abysmal 34-81 from the field and 9-31 from three. Joel Embiid finished with 28 points and 14 rebounds, while Guerschon Yabusele had probably the most impressive night shooting 4-6 from the field finishing with 13 points.

Right away the Warriors, more precisely Steph Curry, kicked things off with a wide-open three for the first basket of the game. Maxey responded with a floater, but Golden State continued to knock down shots with Draymond Green hitting his first shot and Dennis Schroder providing two threes.

The points kept coming for Steve Kerr‘s squad as Andrew Wiggins and Trayce Jackson-Davis scored their first points of the night while Green added another bucket to make it 17-6 Warriors. Guerschon Yabusele got his name in the stat sheet early, scoring six points over the next few minutes. However, over that same stretch, Jonathan Kuminga jumped right off the bench for Golden State and scored seven quick points of his own.

As the quarter wound down, the threes just kept dropping for the Warriors. Schroder drilled his third of the first quarter, while Moses Moody and former 76er Buddy Hield both drilled triples as Golden State led 35-19 after the first quarter.

Quarter two was much of the same for Golden State as the threes kept dropping. Moody and Curry both drilled their second threes of the game, while Lindy Waters III knocked down his first triple as well. The defense continued to look poor from Philadelphia, allowing back-to-back layups to extend Golden State’s lead to 18.

The 76ers got a small run, with Joel Embiid and Paul George hitting back-to-back shots, and Eric Gordon added a long three. However, that run added with Waters drilling another three and Kuminga slamming down an alley-oop. With just over two minutes to go in the half, Curry and Green added to the Warrior’s total by both drilling threes. The 76ers were unable to knock a shot down in the final minutes and went into the half down 68-52.

After the half, the Warriors continued to knock down shot after shot. Schroder swished a mid-range jumper to start the second half and was answered by a similar shot from Embiid, however, Green and Curry continued to do what they do with Green scoring a tough layup and Curry drilling a long three.

The 76ers, who were already falling behind, had their deficit grow even larger as other than a few free throws here and there, were unable to get a key run going. After a long three from Embiid, Curry started to do what he does best and took over the game. First, it was back-to-back threes, then a dime pass to Wiggins for another three, and finally a pullup jumper to make it 94-69 Golden State, forcing Nick Nurse to call timeout.

Despite being up 25, the Warriors offense just continued to score as the third quarter wound down. Moody drilled another three-pointer and Kuminga added on with an and-one layup. Embiid attempted to combat the attack with a dunk and an and-one layup, but it wasn’t enough as the 76ers went into the fourth quarter down 103-78.

With just 12 minutes left to play, the 76ers finally scored first in a quarter with George drilling a three. However, they were answered right away and one-upped with Kuminga drilling a three and following it with a layup. Green added onto the lead with a layup and a long three from Tyrese Maxey made it look like the 76ers were getting something going.

That was until Curry started shooting again. He knocked down another two threes to make it a perfect 8-8 from beyond the arc and increase the Warriors’ lead to 30 points. Despite having over eight minutes left of action, both teams began emptying their benches.

Ricky Council IV fresh off the bench started rilling shot after shot. Three consecutive shots in the paint were followed up by a long three-pointer for nine straight points. Kyle Anderson and Kevon Looney ended that run for Council, as both hit multiple shots to extend the Warriors lead.

As the final minutes ticked down the Warriors began to run out the clock as they defeated the 76ers 139-105.
