Report: Phillies have Alec Bohm on trade block

The Phillies are expected to make some modifications and shake-ups this offseason. It seems like the National League’s All-Star starting third baseman is in those plans.
Alec Bohm is on the trade block, ESPN‘s Jeff Passan reported on Tuesday in an offseason preview.
“[Bohm’s] first-half OPS was nearly 150 points higher than in the second half, and the Phillies are looking to shake up their team after a disappointing postseason ouster by the Mets,” Passan wrote.
Bohm slashed .280/.332/.448 in 2024 in the best season of his career.
However, he struggled in the season’s final two months, even prior to a wrist injury that had him out for the first couple weeks of September.
Bohm went 1-for-13 in the National League Division Series. He was even benched in Game 2. Bohm has a .214 batting average with 25 hits, 2 home runs, and 14 RBIs in 34 games in the postseason in his career.
For the Phillies, that is what this ultimately comes down to. If you are going to produce in the regular season, great. But if you vanish in the postseason, that cannot occur for a team whose window is beginning to close.
And then there are the things that are not on the state sheet with the 28-year-old, who is well known for his helmet-slamming and on-field emotional flare-ups. This includes its past postseason where the five-year pro was seen crying in the dugout during Game 4 of the NLDS in Queens. Cannot happen.
Bohm’s name has been swirling around in trade rumors the past few days, but Passan’s piece gave us the most tangible proof yet that a Bohm trade could be on the docket.
