What Could 76ers Do in 2024 Draft?

The 2024 NBA Draft is almost upon us, with the 1st pick being just 3 days away. The Sixers own the 16th pick and Chicago’s 41st pick for the NBA’s first multi-day draft.
Here’s what Daryl Morey could do with his two valuable draft picks:
Select Kyle Filipowski with the 16th pick
Kyle Filipowski out of Duke is a versatile big man who could be a serviceable backup for Joel Embiid for the foreseeable future. With Paul Reed‘s career in Philadelphia likely coming to an end, drafting Filipowski would fill a big hole in the Philadelphia roster. Finding a good backup center has been difficult for the Sixers, with the last decent backup to Embiid being Andre Drummond in the 2021-2022 season. Filipowski is 20 years old and just finished his sophomore season with the Blue Devils. He is 7 feet tall and averaged about 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 stocks (steals and blocks) in his time with Duke.
Or, they could do something else with that pick.
Trade the 16th Pick to Brooklyn for Mikal Bridges
It was rumored by reporters that the Nets were taking calls for Mikal Bridges, but they only will accept a trade if it is an excellent offer. However, we know that the Nets aren’t the best with their judgment with trades. Philadelphia could send the 16th pick and assets to Brooklyn for Bridges, but it isn’t likely that this will happen on draft night. It is more likely that Philly would wait until June 30th, when Free Agents can be signed and trade Tobias Harris and the rights to the 16th pick for Mikal Bridges in a Sign and Trade. Bridges would fit well with the Sixers, although Daryl Morey’s eyes are likely set on a bigger target (LeBron James?).
Draft Pelle Larsson with the 41st pick
When Daryl Morey brought Buddy Hield to Philadelphia, he was supposed to be an absolute sniper and sharpshooter from beyond the arc. He disappointed many with a rather lackluster tenure thus far in Philly. Pelle Larsson could be the sharpshooter that Philadelphia needs. Joel Embiid loves his shooters, as we’ve seen in the past with JJ Redick and Seth Curry. Larsson is a 6’5 guard from Arizona who just finished his senior year with the Wildcats. He shot about 43% from three, making him one of the best shooters in college basketball. He shoots better than some guards that have lottery potential, such as Jared McCain from Duke and Kyshawn George from Miami.
