Zack Wheeler and the bullpen led the way to a decisive victory tonight for the Philadelphia Phillies that was something just short of perfection. Letting up only one run and two hits Wheeler propelled the Phillies toward victory, and the offense was there to back him up.

Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos kicked off the scoring for the Phillies in the first inning, each driving in an RBI to give the Phillies a early lead over the Diamondbacks.

In the bottom of the third, Harper set the tone for the evening as he launched a 427-foot two-run home run into the second deck, putting the Phillies up 4-0.

If that wasn’t enough for you, up comes Alec Bohm, who follows in the footsteps of Bryce Harper by launching a solo shot to extend the Phillies’ lead to five.

Kyle Schwarber collected his second RBI of the night in the fourth as he hit a double that gave enough time for Edmundo Sosa to drive in a run, making it a 6-0 ballgame.

In the top of the fifth, the Diamondbacks finally responded with a single by Tucker Barnhart that drew in the Diamondbacks first and only run of the night.

This run would not stop the force that was the Phillies offense tonight, as Nick Castellanos would launch a two-run home run 428 feet into left field, once again extending the Phillies lead, this time in the bottom of the fifth.

In the bottom of the sixth, Castellanos would once again bring in two runs, this time off of a single that scored Schwarber and Trea Turner, making it 10-1.

The final runs of the night would be courtesy of David Dahl, as he picked up a home run against catcher Tucker Barnhart, giving us a final score of 12-1.

The Phillies showed up and set the standard for game three of this homestand as they pick up a massive 12-1 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks that ties the series at one apiece.

More importantly, the Phillies hit a huge milestone of the season, as they reach 50 wins and continue their reign of first place in the National League.
