After a slew of trades, Howie Roseman decided to add depth in the receiver room with A&M wideout Ainias Smith.

Smith is a small but often times explosive receiver who has quick feet and fantastic on-the-ball skills. During his career, he showed very little hesitation to fight for contested catches and fights for the ball as well as anyone.

Due to his size, we will most likely see him limited to the slot at least early on and he has had trouble with being knocked off his routes at times. He doesn’t hesitate to fight for the ball, but he’s a small guy and doesn’t find himself winning too often either.

Another concern would be the fractured leg he suffered in 2022 possibly hinting towards injury concerns at the pro level.

In his final season at Texas A&M, he led the team with 53 receptions, and 795 receiving yards. NextGen stats have him ranked as the 25th most productive WR in the draft and overall the 32nd best WR in his class. He was widely projected to go around the 5th round so the Eagles got him at good value. A very common NFL comparison for Ainias Smith was Christian Kirk of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
