Tyrese Maxey Wins Most Improved Player Award

When James Harden was traded from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, Tyrese Maxey was given the biggest role of his career and he delivered. He needed to fill the shoes of Harden, and he did, and then some.
Maxey is the second 76er to ever win the award, with Dana Barros winning it in 1995.
Maxey’s improvement from 2023 to 2024 is incredible. He went from averaging 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists to averaging 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Maxey was able to do this while playing in 10 more games than he did in 2023, playing in 70 of Philadelphia’s 82 contests.
Tyrese Maxey’s growth is perfect. There are rookies in the NBA that are 23 years old. Maxey is 23 years old in his 4th NBA season and is already winning some of the most prestigious awards. This was the first season that he was named an All-Star and it definitely will not be the last. He looks to make his first All-NBA team and it would not be a surprise if he were to get the honor.
