Mocking up the Young Guns: 2024 Eagles Mock Draft
Ken Ruinard/USA TODAY
As we get closer to draft day, it’s about time we take a deep dive into how the Eagles should approach the 2024 NFL Draft! What are their needs? Who’s available? Should the Eagles pursue a trade? We’re going to answer all your questions with a mock draft!

Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson – Round 1, Pick 22
The Eagles’ defense crumbled during last season, and it was clear there needed to be change in the cornerback position. Darrius Slay and James Bradberry are heading into their thirties, and with Bradberry declining in skill, there is an opening for a young cornerback on the Eagles. Nate Wiggins is the youth needed for the Eagles. Wiggins has shown incredible speed and athleticism during his collegiate playing time, and I have no doubt that, if given time, he will become a defensive threat on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Patrick Paul, OT, Houston – Round 2, Pick 50
Age is a factor when it comes to the Eagles’ offensive line. With Lane Johnson soon turning 34 and Jason Kelce retiring this year, it’s time to draft a young and promising offensive lineman. Patrick Paul is a great candidate for the Eagles, with his long wingspan giving him the ability to strike first when on the line. Paul shows great potential to be a starter for the Eagles in the near future.

Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida – Round 2, Pick 53
Kellen Moore is in the market for a slot receiver with Devonta Smith and AJ Brown working the outside. Pearsall can be the guy to fill that spot on the Eagles’ offense as he shows to have quick speed and great agility to snap off drive routes suddenly.
Mohamed Kamara, OLB, Colorado State – Round 4, Pick 120
The Eagles have shown improvement in the depth chart by signing linebackers Devin White, Bryce Huff, Zack Baun, and Owen Burks, but there is still a need for youth to rise up in the locker room. I feel that this is where Mohamed Kamara comes into play as he is an easy mid-round pick to learn from these veteran free agents and eventually step into their role.

Tanner McLachlan, TE, Arizona, – Round 5, Pick 161
It was shown during Dallas Goedert’s time on injury reserve that our backup tight ends were not capable of stepping up. I think this pick is a solid move for the Eagles as it brings depth to the roster in a not-so-risky pick with the potential to be incredibly rewarding down the stretch.

Javion Cole, C/G, Miami – Round 5, Pick 171
With the loss of Jason Kelce in the offseason and Lane Johnson now entering the late stages of his career it’s a good bet to add more depth to the offensive line with this Center/Guard from the University of Miami.

Trajan Jeffcoat, DE, Arkansas – Round 5, Pick 172
Trajan Jeffcoat is a solid defensive end, but with a few flaws. He shows promise on the field, and with low expectations from being drafted in the late rounds, he may have the ability to learn and work to rid his weaknesses.

Tahreeb Still, CB, Maryland – Round 6, Pick 210
Still is a good pickup for the sixth round as he is a promising young cornerback that the Eagles can allow to climb in their roster. Still has a good mind for reading offenses, which is something that the Eagles could easily integrate into their defense.
