New York Mets relief pitcher Yohan Ramirez (46) throws at the head of Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins (12) during the seventh inning when the New York Mets played the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Citi Field in Queens, NY. Robert Sabo for NY Post

Rhys Hoskins‘ first weekend as a Milwaukee Brewer, has been quite eventful.

Hoskins and the Brew Crew got their season underway at Citi Field in Queens against the New York Mets, a place where Hoskins is not exactly welcome.

The feud goes back to 2019 when the Mets threw behind Hoskins, leading to him going deep the very next night and taking 34 seconds to run the bases.

Things were reignited on Friday. Hoskins took a hard slide into second base to try and break up a double play. He slid into Mets second basemen Jeff McNeil, took out his leg, and knocked him down. McNeil screamed at Hoskins and gestured toward him while he stayed on the ground. The benches then cleared and Hoskins mocked McNeil and the Mets by calling them babys.

You can take Hoskins out of Philly, but not the Philly out of Hoskins.

So, how did he follow this up on Saturday?

He went 3-3 with four RBIs, including a two-run homer.

With the boo’s raining down on Hoskins throughout the day, the Mets started to, well, Met.

In the seventh inning, Yohan Ramirez sliced a 94-mph fastball at Hoskins, which he had to duck out of the way. Ramirez was ejected, and Hoskins stood there with his hands on his hips like one bad m-fer.

Hoskins will forever live rent-free in the Mets’ heads.

The Brewers won 7-6. The Mets are 0-2.
