For the first time in its history, the out-of-town scoreboard in right field is getting a major do-over going into the 2024 season.
The old-school, video-game-esk scoreboard scoreboard on the right field wall will be fully digitalized. The wall was popular with fans, as they could track the games around the league easily. There is not an explanation of what led to the decision to make the change.
Tim Kelly of Phillies Nation confirmed the rumor as images have surfaced on social media in recent days.
It does make some sense, though. It is easier to change the teams digitally rather than having to do it manually. It does take a lot of nostalgia away from the ballpark.
It is the first major change to the out-of-town scoreboard since Citizens Bank Park opened in 2004. It will debut on the 20th Opening Day in the ballpark’s history on March 28 against the Atlanta Braves.

You cover every angle.
