The Eagles have downgraded Jalen Hurts to questionable for their game against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football because of an illness, as reported first by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hurts is traveling to Seattle separately trying to avoid his teammates getting sick. The Eagles were initially supposed to play the Seahawks on Sunday but the game was flexed to Monday night, which might give him enough time to feel good enough to play.

Hurts appeared on the team’s injury report Saturday when he missed practice because of an illness and he remains under the weather.

If Hurts is unable to play, the Birds will turn to veteran backup Marcus Mariota, who played his first seven offensive snaps of the season in the last two weeks against the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.

The first-ever Monday Night Football flex could end up as a backup quarterback matchup. Seahawks’ starter Geno Smith is also listed as questionable with a groin injury that kept him out last week. Drew Lock will start for Seattle in place of Smith if he is unable to play.

The Eagles also ruled out three players for Monday Night Football in Darius Slay (knee), Cam Jurgens (pectoral), and Zach Cunningham (knee).
