The Flyers are running out of healthy forwards, and the lineup will look different Monday.

Prior to taking on the Colorado Avalanche at Xfinity Mobile Arena, the Flyers recalled forwards Alex Bump and Cole Knuble from Lehigh Valley, a day after calling up defenseman Hunter McDonald. Both forwards are expected to play against the Avalanche, and the game will be Knuble’s NHL debut. Defenseman Helge Grans and forward Jack Studnicka went back to the Phantoms to make room on the roster.

The Flyers are coming off their first win of the season. They beat the Ottawa Senators 3-1 on Saturday night, snapping a franchise-record nine-game losing streak to open the season. Matvei Michkov and Porter Martone each had a goal and an assist, Trevor Zegras added an empty-net goal, and Daniel Vladar made 25 saves. Joseph Woll gets the start in net against an Avalanche team that ranks second in the NHL in goals per game at 4.50.

Bump is the headliner of the recalls. He made the opening night roster and played three games before being sent down Oct. 7. He has made the most of his time in the AHL, scoring seven goals in five games for the Phantoms. Knuble is the son of former Flyers forward Mike Knuble. He has one goal and four points in six games with Lehigh Valley.

The call-ups are needed because the injury list is continuing to grow for the Flyers. Sean Couturier and Tyson Foerster will be game-time decisions. Couturier was banged up against Ottawa; Foerster tested his right hand at morning skate after blocking a shot Saturday, took a couple of shots, and left the ice shaking his head before talking with a trainer. Owen Tippett will miss a second straight game with an upper-body injury.

Travis Konecny is eligible to return from injured reserve from his lower-body injury, but there is no update on his status. Defensemen Cam York and Rasmus Ristolainen remain on injured reserve. With Couturier and Foerster’s status uncertain, Bump and Knuble will be asked to give the Flyers fresh legs against one of the league’s best offenses.
