Schedule release day is always a great day in the NFL.

This feels like another tough schedule for the Eagles, who will play eight games against playoff teams, up from seven last season. There are also seven primetime games, another grind for people who don’t want to stay up late, a trip to possibly a second-division stadium in England, and a turkey bowl against their most hated rival.

The Eagles have the 10th-easiest schedule with a combined winning percentage of .481. Compared to last season’s at .561, it’s an improvement, but they’ll still play a lot of good teams. It will be yet another challenge for Philadelphia to see how they will fare with some new faces in new places.

The first real jolt comes between Weeks 3-5, when they’ll face three playoff teams in the Bears, Rams, and Jaguars. The Eagles got blown out by Chicago last season on Black Friday and are hoping for immediate revenge. They’ll meet the Rams for the fifth time since 2023 (including playoffs) and will go to London for the second time to play as visitors to Jacksonville. They haven’t played in Jacksonville since 2010. The Eagles are coming off three games against opponents with double-digit victories last season, plus an overseas trip. The Panthers will have a Week 5 bye, making it even harder to come back from overseas to play a fully-rested team.

The middle of the schedule continues a rough stretch as the Eagles will play three straight games against teams in their own division, hosting Dallas on Monday night, before going to Washington on Sunday night, and ending with the Giants. And we all know that during rivalry games, teams can easily snatch away a victory when it matters. If the Eagles are in a division race in late December, these three games will be some of the most important.

The Cowboys are always tough, and it’ll be even harder on Thanksgiving. Philadelphia blew a 21-0 lead last season in Dallas, which is a city they’ve really struggled to play in over the past few seasons. Towards the holidays is where the hardest will come for the Eagles. They’ll host both the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Texans. The Eagles are 0-8 in their last eight meetings and haven’t beaten Seattle since 2008.

Meanwhile, the Texans are loaded by their elite defense, highlighted by Will Anderson Jr., Danielle Hunter, and Azeez Al-Shaair. And they’ll be facing the Texans on only four days of rest, making it even harder than it already was.

They also have a favorable travel schedule, courtesy of their overseas trip. They’re expected to travel 22,115 miles this season, ranking them ninth in the league.
