Eagles Acquire Packers Wide Receiver Dontayvion Wicks For Fifth and Sixth-Round Pick
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (13) makes a catch against Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch (32) during the second half at Ford Field in Detroit on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025.
The Eagles have made a trade involving a wide receiver, only instead of trading one away, they’ve brought one in.
With less than two weeks out until the 2026 NFL Draft, Howie Roseman is up to his normal Howie Roseman shenanigans, as he’s made a move to acquire another wide receiver to an already loaded Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver room.
The Eagles have acquired former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, and in exchange, Philadelphia will be sending pick No. 153 in this upcoming year’s draft as well as a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft. Along with acquiring Wicks, the Eagles have also agreed to a one-year, $12.5 million extension with the wide receiver.
To say this is an interesting move would be underselling it a bit, as currently, the Eagles’ wide receiver room is jammed packed. At the top, it’s led by A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, two former 1,000+ yard wideouts, and this offseason, they’ve added Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to the group.

Not to mention Darius Cooper, Johnny Wilson, and Britain Covey, all former main roster wide receivers as well as long-time practice squad players, Danny Gray, and Quez Watkins.
Wicks, just 24 years old, was heading into his final year on his rookie contract in 2026 with the Packers. The Packers drafted wide receiver Matthew Golden during the first round of last year’s draft, creating a deep wide receiver room of Golden, Wicks, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs. Doubs left in free agency this spring, but despite that departure, the Packers still felt the room was too crowded.
The Eagles now pick up a 24-year-old former fifth-round pick out of Virginia, who, at times, has shone on the field when given opportunities, but the stat sheet hasn’t shown any true signs of being a dominant wide receiver 1.

Wicks has caught 108 receptions for 1328 yards and has hauled in 11 touchdowns in his career. His best season came during his rookie year, when in 15 games he totaled 581 yards and caught four touchdowns. Known as more of a dynamic route runner, Wicks has struggled to keep up in the league due to his lack of game-breaking speed, but has shown to be able to create separation from coverages.
While this could be just another move to improve the depth of the room, this could be writing on the wall for Brown, who all offseason long has been the top story on whether or not the Eagles would be trading him. Brown outwardly expressed his frustrations with the Eagles’ offense last season, and while no formal trade request has been made by Brown, multiple insiders and reporters have come out saying teams have looked into acquiring Brown.
A deal for Brown will likely not be possible for the Eagles until after June 1st, as until then, if the Eagles were to trade Brown, they would eat over $43 million in dead cap money, as well as cause a $20 million loss in cap space. If they wait until after June 1st, then the dead cap hit drops to below $20 million.
