Eagles, Jordan Davis agree to 3-year deal making him highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history

Jordan Davis is the first of the Eagles’ three young defensive tackles to get a big payday.
Davis and the Eagles have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $78 million extension with $65 million guaranteed. The $26 million-per-year deal makes Davis the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history. It ties him with former Eagle and now New England Patriot Milton Williams as the second-highest paid defensive tackle behind just Chris Jones in Kansas City.
Jordan Schultz was the first to report the news Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles exercised the fifth-year option on Davis last April, locking in a guaranteed $12.9 million for this upcoming 2026 season. This new extension should significantly lower his cap hit for this year by paying out that base salary in bonus money. So, essentially, this extension is a four-year deal, including that fifth-year option.
The 26-year-old, who was selected by the Eagles with the 13th overall pick in 2022, has turned into a superstar tackle for the Eagles, specifically blossoming in 2025. He recorded 72 tackles, 4.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, and six quarterback hits this season, all career highs.
It took Davis some time to get going. His first three years in the league were nothing special, combining just 90 tackles, 3.5 sacks, six TFLs, and six QB hits.

A big boost in 2025 for the former Georgia Bulldog was his body transformation. He slimmed down substantially, became a different player, played a career-high 686 snaps, and earned this new, immense contract.
“I want to be who I am. I want to genuinely be the best person I can be,” Davis said on Hard Knocks this season. “And that’s why I’m going so hard in terms of like, how my body’s changing and my weightlifting and my conditioning and stuff like that, because I want to do this for me. I want to look sexy, I want to be skinny… The more that I do that and the more I see progress, and I see results, I’m even more motivated.

Davis was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 11 when the Eagles defeated the Detroit Lions 16-9, and was also the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams when he blocked the game-winning field goal and returned for perhaps the best moment of the Eagles’ 2025 season.
Above all of that, Davis has become a leader on defense for the Eagles. He has morphed into a leader in the locker room and a teammate that players gravitate towards. This deal proves that, along with Davis becoming a cornerstone in this core.
The Eagles have some more work to do before free agency starts on Monday. It has become apparent over the last few offseasons that this team prioritizes retaining homegrown talent, like Davis. Davis’ fellow DT’s, Jalen Carter and Moro Ojomo, are both eligible for contract extensions. Both are expected to also be quite pricey.
