Howie Roseman has signed a free agent.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly agreed to a contract with former Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon. It’s a one-year deal for Dillon, with the compensation yet to be determined.

Dillon did not play for the entirety of the 2024 season due to a stinger issue in his neck. He recently received clearance from the top neck specialists in the country, allowing him to return to playing football.

A former second-round pick out of Boston College, Dillon split carries in his first three seasons in Green Bay with fellow former Packers running back Aaron Jones. Dillon has rushed for 2,428 yards and 18 total touchdowns in his career, with 803 of those yards coming in 2021 and 770 coming in 2022.

Dillon is famously known as “The Quadfather” due to his large quads, and now joins a backfield with Saquon Barkley, who also has a quad-based nickname with “SaQuads.” He will likely back up Barkley with second-year player Will Shipley remaining in the third-string role.

The Eagles lost running back Kenneth Gainwell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency earlier this week.

LB/FB Ben VanSumeren, who is an exclusive rights free agent, re-signed with the Eagles for one year earlier Wednesday, as well. VanSumeren is still recovering from a season-ending ACL knee injury he suffered in November.
