Phillies avoid arbitration with Bryson Stott, Ranger Suarez, Brandon Marsh

After the Phillies avoided arbitration with Jesús Luzardo, the team agreed to a deal with Bryson Stott, Ranger Suárez, and Brandon Marsh.
Stott’s deal was worth $3.2 million deal for 2025, Suarez and the Phils agreed on an $8.8 million deal for 2025, and Marsh’s deal was worth $3 million, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
All three of these guys are coming off down years. Stott hit .245/.315/.356 last season, with an OPS of .671, 76 points worse than 2024. Marsh, after a hot start, slowed down immensely, finishing with a .249 average and .747 OPS.
Suárez is another guy who started hot a finished cold. Suárez had a record of 2-6 with an ERA of 6.04 and 46 strikeouts in 10 appearances after July 1. This came after he got hit on the hand off a comebacker in early June.
But, no real surprises with these arbitration signings.
The Phillies avoided arbitration with two others earlier this offseason, signing right-handed reliever Jose Ruiz to a one-year, $1.22M deal and Garrett Stubbs for $925,000. Luardo’s deal was worth $6.225 million.
The Phillies’ remaining unresolved arbitration cases for 2025 are Alec Bohm and Edmundo Sosa. Without an agreement prior to the deadline, the Phillies will exchange salary figures with each of them and separate hearings would be scheduled for mid-February.
If no one-year or multi-year settlement can be reached by the hearing date, the case is brought to a panel of arbitrators, who will select either the salary figure of either the player or the club as the player’s salary for the upcoming season.
