In a fantastic start to the game for the Eagles in Landover, Maryland, their star quarterback will not be returning.

Jalen Hurts has been ruled out against the Commanders with a concussion after being evaluated and eventually ruled out early in the second quarter.

Hurts got hit in the head at the end of his 13-yard run in the first quarter by Frankie Luvu. Hurts tried to stay on the field, giving the Eagles medical staff a thumbs up, but eventually ran to the sideline.

After time in the medical tent, Hurts warmed up with his helmet on, but was then called back to the tent and jogged into the locker room.

Prior to exiting, Hurts was 1-for-4 for 11 yards and 41 yards on the ground on three rushes.

Kenny Pickett is in at quarterback now for the Eagles. He was able to finish the drive where Hurts got injured, throwing a 4-yard pass to A.J. Brown for a touchdown to go up 14-0. If Pickett were to get injured, Tanner McKee is the emergency QB.

We will provide updates on Hurts on our social media and phillysportsreports.com postgame.
