The 76ers may never receive good news ever again.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday that Tyrese Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks because of a right hamstring injury. Maxey will receive a full evaluation later on Thursday.
Maxey was ruled out in the fourth quarter of the Sixers’ Wednesday night loss in Los Angeles with “right hamstring soreness.”
This is a major loss for the 1-6 Sixers. Maxey leads the NBA with 39.7 minutes per game and averages 27.6 points, 3.9 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 steals a game. He has been the one constant so far this season with Paul George and Joel Embiid both missing time with injuries.
The Sixers will likely promote rookie Jared McCain to a more extensive role. The other guards on the roster right now are Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon, and Reggie Jackson.
This should be interesting.
