Back from the Bye — Eagles Return for Week 6 Matchup Against Browns

The Bye Week is over and the Philadelphia Eagles once again have a game this Sunday. For this Week 6 matchup the Birds will face off against the Browns.
So far this year, the Browns haven’t exactly set the world on fire. In fact, the 1-4 team is making its case as one of if not the worst in the NFL. A major part of that is due to the offense, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson, which has only been able to score seven touchdowns through five weeks and hasn’t scored more than 17 points in a game all year.
In terms of quarterback play, the aforementioned Watson has been one of the worst in the league, only throwing for 852 yards so far and holding a QBR of 21.0; good for dead last among all qualified pass throwers in the entire league. Looking at the offense more broadly, the team’s average of 239.4 total yards per game is also ranked at the bottom of the NFL.
Defensively, it’s a different story, with Myles Garrett leading the way for a very solid unit which has been the cornerstone for head coach Kevin Stefanski. However, the defense can only do so much when the offense is incapable of staying on the field. Especially when they’re as banged up as the Browns are right now.
Looking at Cleveland’s injury report from Thursday the 10th, six players have been officially ruled out while four are questionable for Sunday’s game. Garrett was a limited participant of Wednesday’s practice after sustaining an achilles injury but was listed a full participant on Thursday.
Thankfully for the Eagles, the opposite seems to be true, as this Sunday will see the returns of A.J. Brown, Lane Johnson, and DeVonta Smith. Second year safety Sydney Brown‘s practice window has also been opened, however it is unlikely that he will make his return against Cleveland.
The Eagles have a golden opportunity to use this as a “get right game” so to speak. They are well-rested, healthy, and playing an inferior opponent. This game could go a long way in expelling a lot of the bad vibes that have surrounded the team since their Week 4 loss to the Buccaneers.
Vegas seems to think so as well; picking the Eagles as 9.5-point favorites, with the over/under coming in at 42.5. The game will be played at 1:00 and can be watched on FOX.
