Phillies finally place Alec Bohm on 10-day IL with left-hand strain

The Phillies believed Alec Bohm would not need any time on the injured list after straining his left hand on August 29 against the Braves.
Welp, they “believed” incorrectly.
The Phils placed Bohm on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to September 3. To fill his spot on the 28-man roster, the club recalled INF Buddy Kennedy from Lehigh Valley (AAA).
He suffered the injury on a swing in the first inning of that game on August 29, lasted another inning, and has not played since. No structural damage was shown on X-rays but Bohm has had soreness and inflammation and still felt it after some dry swings.
It was hoped he could return this weekend in Miami, but Bohm has not progressed nearly as quickly as was thought.
He is eligible to return on September 13 when the Mets come to town.
Bohm is hitting .290 with an MLB-leading 44 doubles. The Phillies are also losing their No. 1 run-getter. Boom has 89 RBIs, leading the team.
The Phils have gone 6-1 without Bohm, with Edmundo Sosa and Kody Clemens splitting time at third base. It is expected those two will continue to share that time in the hot corner.
