Phillies complete sweep over powerhouse Dodgers, win 5-1 at home

Brandon Marsh took center stage in tonight’s domination of LA, with a home run and a triple giving him one of the best performances of his season.

No doubt the team needed a series win after a disappointing ending against the rival Braves, but a sweep speaks volumes to the talent of this Phillies squad. Let’s break down the 3rd and final game of the series.

Dominance on the Mound all series long

In 3 games against one of the best offenses in all of MLB, Phillies pitching allowed only 5 runs to cross the plate.

Aaron Nola added another great start to what has been a magnificent bounce-back season from his 2023 campaign.

Nola went 6 innings, allowing just 1 run and racking up 9 total strikeouts in his time on the bump.

From there it was handed off to the bullpen with Matt Strahm, Jeff Hoffman, and Jose Alvarado all pitching scoreless innings to seal the deal.

Marsh Mania Continues

Brandon Marsh had one of, if not his best game to a solid start to the regular season, putting the offense on his back tonight.

The scoring started however with Trea Turner, less than a week away from representing the team in the All-Star Game beginning his night with a solo home run.

Then Marsh got it going with a house call of his own, giving him his 9th homer on the season, and then tripled later in the 6th to make it 3-1 Phils.

Johan Rojas scored Marsh from 3rd for insurance runs, and Kyle Schwarber sent one into the seats to make it a 5-1 ballgame.
