A low-scoring, spectacular game took place in Philadelphia tonight as Cristopher Sanchez performed past expectations with a complete game shutout that propelled the Phillies to victory.

One of only 2 scoring plays of the night came in the bottom of the 5th off of a Bryson Stott groundout to second where Whit Merrifield was able to score on.

The second scoring play of the night that gave the Phillies their final score was in the 8th Stott came clutch for an RBI again scoring Rojas off a sacrifice fly.

The most impressive highlight of the night came from the Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez. Sanchez was dealing the whole night as he completed a complete game shutout, recording 9 strikeouts in the process.

This shutout comes after Cristopher Sanchez less than a week after Sanchez signed a 4-year, $22.5 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Phillies.

This performance tonight will surely bring some ease of mind to Phillies fans knowing they have Sanchez secured for the near future
