Flyers earn huge 2 points over Bruins

For the first time since 2021, the Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins.
Let’s recap the game.
First Period
The first period was even if we can say it that way: 0-0 after 20 minutes of play. Nothing much happening, except for a few good chances on both sides. Pastrnak missed a good attempt on a pretty much empty net since Ersson was late. On the other hand, a good opportunity by the Flyers was Tyson Foester hit the post on a shot of the rush.
Flyers did a good job on the penalty kill, but in their own powerplay, nothing happened. The period ended with 11 shots: 6 for the Bruins and 5 for the Flyers.
Second Period
The second period started like the first one: nothing happened. Few opportunities on both sides in the first half of it, but a close game.
Although it was looking to end like the first period, the Flyers opened the score and took a late 1-0 lead. Konecny scored with the assist of Laughton and Foester on the powerplay. The goal was scored with 1:45 left in the second period.
The second period ended with a total of 14 shots on goal: 8 for the Flyers and 6 for the Bruins.
Third Period
The third period didn’t look like the first two in terms of action. 4 goals were scored in total.
In the early second half of the third period, the Bruins will tie it at 1-1. The goal will be scored by Justin Brazeau with the assists of Coyle and Lohrei. After that goal, the Flyers will take the lead back with the second of the afternoon for Travis Konecny with the assists from Frost and Tippett.
Less than a minute after that goal, Heinen will tie it from Geekie and DeBrusk to make it 2 all. It was looking like it was going to OT until Tyson Foerster scored a huge goal with a big shot with 1:29 left in the third period to make it 3-2 and win the game.
Few notes from the game
The Flyers will win the game and get an important 2 points for that playoff push. With the win from the Caps yesterday and the Islanders today, it was huge for the Flyers to win this game. They are now 2-0-1 this week against top teams: Toronto, Carolina, and Boston. The Flyers have now 81 points in 71 games. They are 5-3-2 in their past 10 games.
The Flyers will get back at it tomorrow in Philly (like today) against another top NHL team: the Florida Panthers. The Flyers will have another big opportunity tomorrow to get some more points. It is most likely that Felix Sandstrom will get the start, he will have to play a huge game for the Flyers if they want to have a chance.
