Philadelphia hosting 6 World Cup matches in 2026, including Round of 16

We are just two years away from the World Cup making its way to Philadelphia, and six of the matches will be held at Lincoln Financial Field.

The match announcement schedule was held Sunday afternoon, and it was announced that Philadelphia will host five group stage matches and one round of 16 match on July 4.

The first group stage match in Philadelphia will be on Sunday, June 14, the next five days later on Friday, June 19, the third on Monday, June 22, and then the final group matches on Thursday, June 25, and Saturday, June 27.

The round of 16 match will be on Saturday, July 4. It is also America’s 250th birthday.

What a July of 2026 it will be in Philadelphia with the World Cup round of 16 on July 4, and MLB All-Star Week most likely from July 13-17

The opener of the 39-day tournament will be in Mexico City on June 11. The U.S. team will play its opener at SoFi Stadium in California, on June 12, then travel to Seattle and finish the group stage back in SoFi. There is a real opportunity that if they reach the round of 16, it could be held at the Linc.

The third-place game will be at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, with the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
