Carter Hart, who was not at the morning skate on Tuesday, will be out indefinitely for personal reasons, the Flyers announced.
“Carter Hart has requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence citing personal reasons,” General Manager Daniel Briere said in a statement made by the team. “The club will have no further comment at this time.”
The Flyers recalled goaltender Calvin Petersen to backup for the now-starting goalie Samuel Ersson. Owen Tippett was also placed on Injured Reserve.
Hart this season has started 25 games and has a 12-9-0 record, posting a 2.94 GAA and a .906 SV%.
There is sure to be a lot of speculation on why those occurred. And right now, you the reader know just as much as I do: nothing. We can only hope the best and pray for Hart and his family right now.
The Flyers host the Tampa Bay Lightening Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
