Flyers back on track after sloppy road trip

After getting 3 points out of 8 in the Disney On-Ice road trip and starting the year with 2 losses in a row, the Flyers won a hockey game against the Flames and got back in the win column.
Flyers’ Disney On-Ice road trip wasn’t easy
The yearly Disney On-Ice road trip was a doozy for the Flyers this season, as it usually is.
They beat the Canucks on their first game on that trip, but after that things were hard. The players were tired from all that travel and there was a flu that was going around the team. One of the key players of the Flyers had it, Travis Konecny left the game against the Canucks and didn’t come back for the rest of it. He was back for the game the next day against the Kraken.
They then went on to lose 3 straight to the Kraken, Flames, and Oilers before returning home.
Flyers get back on track
The Flyers returned home and were winning against the Blue Jackets 2-0 in the third period and found a way to lose the game in a shootout. It was starting to look like the Flyers couldn’t hold onto a lead, classically.
Fortunately, they played one of their best games of the season against the Flames on Saturday.
It was a serious bounce-back game and the Flyers look to be back to looking like the legitimately good team from the first two and a half months of the season.
It will be important for the Flyers to stay strong and keep the momentum going from that game. The Flyers will have 2 more games at home and they will be crucial in terms of opportunities.
Huge games incoming for the Flyers
These next few games can be called “huge” since the Flyers should be able to get some important points. They will be home for a few days and don’t have to travel. The fatigue shouldn’t be higher than the next 2 opponents: the Penguins and the Canadiens.
First, to talk about Montreal, they will be facing the Flyers in the second game of a back-to-back while the Flyers won’t have to travel and will have a day off before that game. It should still be interesting to see which goalie the Flyers will be facing since Sam Montembeault had a really huge game on Saturday to steal a victory against the Rangers.
For Monday night’s game against the Penguins, it will be Carter Hart in net. He will be playing his second game in a row after making some important saves against the Flames on Saturday. There shouldn’t be any lineup changes in terms of forward or defensemen for the Flyers per head coach John Tortorella.
For the Penguins, they are coming off a loss against the Sabres and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. In goal, Alex Nedeljkovic will be the starting goaltender.
