The National League Championship Series is upon us, and it gets started in Philadelphia for the first time since 2010.
Here is how the Phillies will line up in Game 1:
- DH Kyle Schwarber
- SS Trea Turner
- 1B Bryce Harper
- 3B Alec Bohm
- 2B Bryson Stott
- C J.T. Realmuto
- RF Nick Castellanos
- LF Brandon Marsh
- CF Johan Rojas
The Phils are going with the same lineup as they did in Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS. Right-hander Zac Gallen is who they will have to deal with.
Gallen has been consistent in his two starts in the postseason. He surrendered two runs on five hits in each start to help the Arizona Diamondbacks record a sweep over both the Milwaukee Brewers in the wild-card round and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. Gallen also allowed two runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on May 24. He is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA in five career starts against the Phils.
Here is the DBacks’ starting lineup for Game 1:
- RF Corbin Carroll
- 2B Ketel Marte
- DH Tommy Pham
- 1B Christian Walker
- C Gabriel Moreno
- LF Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
- CF Alek Thomas
- 3B Evan Longoria
- SS Geraldo Perdomo
Zack Wheeler will look to set the tone at home for Phils, as he gets the start.
Wheeler allowed one run and struck out eight in 6 2/3 innings against the Miami Marlins in Game 1 of the Wild Card round. He surrendered three runs (two of which were earned) and struck out 10 in 6 1/3 of a no-decision against the Atlanta Braves in Game 2 of the NLDS.
Wheeler is 6-3 with a 2.96 ERA in 11 career starts against the DBacks after two decisions against Arizona in the regular season.
Wheeler must be careful with Carroll and Moreno, who are both scorching hot. Carroll was 6-for-9 with two home runs, four RBIs, one double, five runs, two walks, and no strikeouts in the NLDS, while Moreno has gone deep three times in five games for the DBacks.
First pitch is at 8:07 p.m. EDT on TBS. Listen on 94.1 WIP.
