We had another fun night! The Philadelphia 76ers have defeated the Charlotte Hornets 118-101. The Sixers have been a fun team to watch all season as they have now won four straight games. Tobias Harris, who was just announced to be the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, had another great game as he scored 22 points, as he continues to shut up the haters. The Hornets, who are not a very good shooting team, shot awfully tonight, due to some nice Sixers defense. An overall good game by the Sixers was played on Monday night, so let’s break it down!

Let’s start with this wild 76ers offense. The Sixers continue to prove that they have a dominant offense as they were making three-pointers after three-pointers Monday night. The Sixers made 11-32 three-pointers SUnday night, which is 34.4%, that’s pretty solid. But how about Dakota Mathias going 3 for 3 beyond the arch in four minutes!

Now you may be asking yourself, who the heck is Dakota Mathias? Mathias is a 25 year old who was undrafted in 2018 and played in the G-league. He made his NBA debut in 2018. He played his first game in the NBA since 2018 tonight and played pretty well. He had eight points in four minutes which is pretty empressing!

Let’s go through the starters and see how they did tonight.

Tobias Harris had himself a night scoring 22 points with five rebounds and two assists. Harris looks like a different person this season, and I don’t know what happened to him but he’s great! He’s scored 20 or more points in his last four games. That’s pretty absurd.

That’s really the only starter that had a noteworthy night. All Sixers starters finished in double figures as Embiid went 14, 11, and 4, Simmons went 12, 10, and 6, Green went 13, 6, and 3, and finally, Curry went 11, 1, and 2. Curry was 2-2 from beyond the three-point arch.

Here’s some stats from the offense:

48.4 FG %

34.4 3PT %

65.2 FT %

55 rebounds

34 assists

10 turnovers

Nice night by the offense.

The defense was good as well. They finished with seven steals (wow that’s a lot!) and five blocks. Lot’s of nice steals by the defense and nice blocks. That’s all I have to say, good job!

Good night from the Sixers. They’ll take on the Tampa Bay Raptors (yes, the Raptors are in Tampa due to COVID restrictions in Canada) on Wednesday as 7:00 P.M. EST at the Wells Fargo Center.
