Tank Bigsby is being placed on injured reserve with a core muscle injury that will require surgery. He hopes to retuen in six weeks or less.

Bigsby further aggravated an abdominal injury late in Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The procedure will be done at the Vincera Institute, made famous by Dr. William C. Meyers.

Ian Rapoport of ESPN and NFL Network first reported the news.

Bigsby is one of the many offensive Eagles that is dealing with an injury. Saquon Barkley injured his hamstring Sunday; DeVonta Smith could miss more than a week with a hamstring issue; Dallas Goedert (MCL sprain) and Landon Dickerson (bone bruise) have both missed time, and the Eagles provided no update on Lane Johnson, who was a late inactive Sunday with personal issues.

Bigsby had 14 carries for 55 yards, with his longest carry going for 19 yards on Sunday, filling in for Barkley, who was injured early in the first quarter. The 24-year-old exited during the fourth quarter.

Will Shipley shared some of the carries with Bigsby, taking on six attempts for 23 yards. If Barkley has to miss more time, the third-stringer Shipley, as of now, will be the primary back.

The Eagles acquired Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars in early Sept. of 2025 in exchange for 2026 fifth- and sixth-round draft picks. In 20 games as an Eagle, Bigsby has 86 carries for 435 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 5.1 yards per carry, serving as a quality backup for Barkley.
