The 76ers just keep upgrading and upgrading.
The Sixers have an agreement on a two-year, $12.3 million contract with Anfernee Simons. The deal also includes a player option in year two.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, he chose the Sixers over teams such as the Warriors, Heat, Nuggets, Mavericks, and Pacers, with his fit being a perfect fit for their revamped roster. The team traded for Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown on Wednesday night and signed Cavaliers forward Dean Wade on Tuesday.

The Sixers will be the fourth team Simons has played for in his career. After seven years in Portland, Simons was traded to Boston, where he performed well as their sixth man. He averaged 14.2 points while shooting 39.5% from three for the Celtics in 49 games before he was traded to the Chicago Bulls at the 2026 trade deadline in February.
He only appeared in six games for the Bulls before a left wrist injury sidelined the sharpshooter for the rest of the season.
Simons has averaged over 18.8 points over the last few seasons and ranked sixth in three-pointers made off the bench last year. For the Sixers, this is a huge boost to their bench.

With a completely revamped starting lineup, Simons will be a key factor off the bench this upcoming season for the Sixers.
Philadelphia had a bottom-three offensive unit from the bench in the 2025-26 season, and now, with the additions of Simons and Labaron Philon Jr., and potentially more additions to come, the Sixers could go from having one of the worst benches to having one of the best in the span of a few months.
The Sixers will sign Simons using the remainder of their non-taxpayer’s mid-level exception after using the majority of it on free-agent forward Wade. The Sixers roster is currently set at 14 players, with one spot still open. They currently are $5.2 million over the luxury tax and around $3.4 million away from reaching their hard cap at the first apron.
