The Philadelphia Flyers enter the 2026 NHL Draft as a team not selecting in the lottery stages for the first time in many years. After coming off a memorable playoff run, general manager Daniel Briere will have four picks in this draft to work with to improve his team. The Flyers were scheduled to have five picks, but traded their third-round pick on Tuesday to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Joseph Woll and Simon Benoit.

Briere mentioned that they were still in the rebuilding phase. A majority of the players on the Flyers made their NHL debuts, and the organization is looking for young talent to help develop the team further down the road as they start to become competitive once again. The Flyers have shown a willingness to prioritize this type of skill, so with that in mind, here is a full four-pick mock draft for Philadelphia. No trades will be made during this mock.

Round 1, Pick 21: Alexander Command (C, Orebro HK, SHL)

Many experts have the Flyers selecting a center with their first-round selection. The position is weaker relative to the depth of their wingers, and Command brings the two-way playmaking the Flyers need. Command led Orebro with 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists) over 30 games this season. He added 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and 40 shots in 14 playoff games.

Command is known for getting involved in the action, and he isn’t afraid if it costs him a few minutes in the penalty box. He brings a balanced offensive profile of shooting and playmaking and also shows his physicality wherever he is on the ice. It may not be elite, but there is plenty of upside.

Round 2, Pick 53: Giorgos Pantelas (D, Brandon Wheat Kings, WHL)

The Flyers select an 18-year-old defenseman in the second round, Pantelas. He increased his points total from 10 in the 2024-25 season to 37 in the 2025-26 season, taking a major step in his future development. His physicality has improved massively, and he is great at stopping shots in the defensive zone. He can quickly find teammates in the offensive zone with strong puck movement, a skill that has developed since his rookie campaign.

A weakness he has is getting too aggressive in the offensive zone, which can be backed up by his speed, but it’s something Pantelas will have to improve on. With the two best defensemen for the Flyers hitting their 30s (Rasmus Ristolainen, Travis Sanheim), the organization will be looking for youth to replace them in the near future, and Pantelas shows that his skill set can make him a vital asset to the defense.

Round 6, Pick 181: Braidy Wassilyn (LW, London Knights, OHL)

The Flyers have been trying to add more playmaking and creativity on the wing, and Wassilyn checks off those boxes. Wassilyn showcased strong stickhandling, awareness, and passing, which was backed up by his 17 goals and 24 assists in the 2025-26 season.

Wassilyn can punish defenders when he gets space inside, giving the Flyers a player who can separate from coverage and turn it into a scoring opportunity. Committed to Boston University, the improvements he could work on improving his game to become more impactful against stronger competition in the NCAA.

Round 7, Pick 213: Ethan Sturgis (F, Green Bay Gamblers, USHL)

The Flyers have liked forwards with the right size and protection to grow, and Sturgis is already working on building that archetype. As a right-shooting forward, he adds good flexibility on the third and fourth lines with exceptional value on the power play.

Committed to Dartmouth for the 2026-27 season, the Flyers could always use more depth on the wing, and Sturgis would get the opportunity to develop at the college level. Since the pick would be in the seventh round, it’s more of a depth piece than anything. He fits the Flyers as a winger with size and upside who can be a reliable depth piece in the future.
