It just never ends, does it?
An MRI on Wednesday revealed that Kelly Oubre Jr. suffered a sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his left elbow. Oubre Jr. will be reevaluated in approximately two weeks, and the 76ers say further updates will be provided as appropriate.
With Tyrese Maxey out for the next three weeks with a tendon injury in his right pinkie finger, Oubre was looked upon as a swingman who would need to step up to keep the Sixers afloat in the Eastern Conference, as he is one of the team’s only role players qualified to upscale his workload offensively. In his first test, he passed, scoring 30 points on 9-11 shooting in Tuesday night’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies. We did not even get a chance to blink.

The 30-year-old is averaging 14.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 41 contests this season.
The 76ers, who are 1.5 games out of a playoff spot, will look to climb out of a Play-In seed without nearly their entire lineup. Maxey is out for at least the next three weeks with that aforementioned finger injury. Joel Embiid remains sidelined with a right oblique strain, and the Sixers still have not provided any update on a timeline for his return. Paul George‘s suspension has him missing another two weeks, and he is not eligible to return until March 25.

So, here is the Sixers’ official injury report before facing the East’s best Detroit Pistons Thursday night:
- Adem Bona (back soreness), questionable
- Johni Broome (right knee surgery recovery), out
- Joel Embiid (right oblique strain), out
- Paul George (league suspension), out
- Tyrese Maxey (right finger tendon injury), out
- Kelly Oubre Jr. (left elbow sprain), out
Good luck.
