The Eagles have finally made a change at offensive playcalling.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni announced on Tuesday that they have relieved Kevin Patullo of his offensive coordinator duties. Patullo was promoted to the team’s offensive coordinator after last season, following the departure of former coordinator Kellen Moore, who left the position to become the head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

Patullo has been on the Eagles’ staff for the past five seasons, joining Sirianni from the Indianapolis Colts when he was hired as the team’s head coach five years ago. Patullo started as the team’s pass game coordinator before working his way up to associate head coach and then offensive coordinator and playcaller.

In 2025, the Eagles’ offense ranked 24th in total offense, 18th in running offense, 19th in scoring offense, and 24th in third-down rate. In comparison, last year they ranked eighth, second, seventh, and 10th in those respective categories.

This will be the fifth different coordinator that Sirianni will employ over his six seasons with the team, and if you think that’s bad, unless a former play caller is hired, this will be the 10th different play caller for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts has only had the same play caller for back-to-back seasons once, back in 2021-22 with Shane Steichen.

2016: Lane Kiffin (Alabama)
2017: Brian Daboll (Alabama)
2018: Mike Locksley (Alabama)
2019: Lincoln Riley (Oklahoma)
2020: Doug Pederson (Eagles)
2021: Nick Sirianni (Eagles)
2021–22: Shane Steichen (Eagles)
2023: Brian Johnson (Eagles)
2024: Kellen Moore (Eagles)
2025: Kevin Patullo (Eagles)

Despite being relieved of his duties, Patullo may not be leaving the Eagles, as in Sirianni’s statement, he never said Patullo was fired; he only said that they were making a change at offensive coordinator. Patullo could very likely revert to his role as pass game coordinator or even as associate head coach, some type of role where he won’t have as many game-day responsibilities.
