PG is back!
After going down last March with a knee injury and missing the first 12 games this season, 76ers forward Paul George is expected to make his 2025-26 season debut Monday night in Philadelphia, as the 76ers battle George’s former team, the Los Angeles Clippers.

George, a former nine-time All-Star, was the 76ers’ big free agency back in the summer of 2024, as he signed a four-year, $212 million contract with Philadelphia, forming a big three with fellow 76ers stars, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
Things, unfortunately, did not go the 76ers’ way last season as all three of George, Maxey, and Embiid missed huge chunks of the year due to injuries. This allowed the 76ers to fall inside the top three of the NBA Draft order and select VJ Edgecombe, and young up-and-coming superstar, to bulk up their rotation.

In George’s first year with the team, he averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.8 steals over 41 games, while shooting 43% from the field and 36% from three. It was a down year compared to previous seasons for George, but his presence and leadership on the floor still bring value to this young 76ers squad.
The 76ers have gotten off to an impressive start to the season, going 7-5 through their first 12 games, and seem to be getting healthier by the day, with George returning and Jared McCain and Embiid rehabbing their injuries. While he may not be a superstar anymore, George brings another solid body that can help this team win.
