Lane Johnson suffered Lisfranc injury Sunday night, not expected to be season ending

Lane Johnson, who got injured in the first quarter of the Eagles’ win over the Lions on Sunday night, has suffered a Lisfranc sprain that will have him out for four to six weeks.
It is not expected to be a season-ending injury, but he is expected to be headed to injured reserve.
The Eagles have seven weeks remaining of the regular season. Wild Card weekend is January 10-12. It now becomes even more vital for the Eagles to get that top seed in the NFC and earn the bye.
Johnson, 35, started Sunday night after missing the majority of the Packers game last Monday with an ankle injury. This will be the longest period in which he is out since 2020, when he underwent season-ending ankle surgery in November. It will be costly. Without Johnson on the field, the Eagles are 15-23 since he was drafted. 110-57-1 with him out there.
Johnson is in his 13th season with the Eagles, and is still the best right tackle in the NFL. He is a six-time Pro Bowler and a five-time all-pro with two first-team nods.
The Eagles are lucky, however. They have a solid backup tackle in Fred Johnson.
The 28-year-old undrafted free agent spent his first three seasons with the Bengals and one year with the Buccaneers before joining the Eagles in 2023. He made six starts last year, just one at right tackle, before signing as a free agent with the Jaguars, who sent him back to Philadelphia just before the season started. He has played sufficiently this year, mainly as an extra tight end in the Eagles’ jumbo package.
The Eagles’ offensive line continues to be injured. It has been a revolving door all season. This, though, is a major blow.
