Yes, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce just announced their engagement, but what is bigger news than the Phillies’ 2026 schedule being released?

While we may be 212 days away from opening day in 2026, and the Phillies are in the middle of a huge series in Queens, it is time to have a look at the schedule for next year, and I have a few major takeaways.

  • The Phillies will open the season at home against the Rangers on Thursday, March 26, presumably at 3:05 p.m. ET. The Phils seem to host the season opener every other year, with the last time they hosted it in 2024, resulting in a 9-3 loss to the Braves. It is always more satisfying to host the first game, and it will be much more sound than having the home opener on a Monday, as they did this past March.
  • The Phils have a pretty smooth first two months, which includes four series against NL East opponents. Things start to ramp up towards the end of May when they head to San Diego and then to Dodger Stadium.
  • The Phillies do not play the Mets until June 18.
  • The Phils play only four home games from June 22-July 12 — that is a 25-game stretch — to accommodate the World Cup and All-Star Game in South Philly. That is going to be brutal.
  • All-Star festivities at Citizens Bank Park are set to kick off the weekend of July 10. The Futures Game and Celebrity Softball Game will be over the weekend, the Home Run Derby will be on Monday, July 13, and the All-Star Game will be on Tuesday, July 14.
  • And then right after the break, the next three series go Mets, Dodgers, and Yankees. How fun will that 10-game stretch be?
  • The MLB will formally announce Field of Dreams game between the Phillies and Twins at a later date. If the league follows the previous format, the game would take place Thursday, August 13 with a day off on Friday and the series resuming Saturday in Minnesota, according to Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Currently, the schedule has the Phillies and Twins playing on that Friday through Sunday.
  • Then in September, the Phils have 11 games against the Braves and Mets in September, eight of them on the road. Great.
  • They will end their season Sunday, September 27, at home against the Rays.

The Phillies’ velvety opening to their season turns harrowing very quickly. A hot start will be indispensable in 2026.

Or, go out and win a World Series in 2025, so we do not have to drool over this schedule for six months.
