Defense, Offensive Line, And A Quarterback? Eagles Add Eight Players On Day 3 Of NFL Draft

With the 2025 NFL draft now officially in the books, the Philadelphia Eagles have added a multitude of new players who will hopefully help them try to get back and win another Super Bowl.

The Eagles selected two players in the first two rounds of the draft: linebacker Jihaad Campbell out of Alabama, and safety Andrew Mukuba from Texas. Both of those players were fantastic draft picks for Philadelphia and will almost make an immediate impact for the Eagles’ defense this upcoming season.

Following those two selections, the Eagles, thanks to multiple trades throughout the weekend, had acquired eight draft picks on day three of the draft. The Eagles may be one of the deepest rosters in all of football, but they hold that title because of their ability to consistently draft stars and depth players.

They find those types of players, especially depth players, on day three of the draft in rounds 4-7. This year, the Eagles looked to repeat the process and continue to fill spots on their roster for players that they lost in free agency.

They kicked things off by grabbing a replacement for Milton Williams, defensive tackle Ty Robinson, in the fourth round. Robinson is a strong prospect who brings a powerful presence to the defensive line and will almost instantly be a valuable rotational piece for the Eagles this season.

Also joining the Eagles, replacing a departing star, is cornerback Mac McWilliams out of UCF. McWilliams, a speedy 5’10 back, will likely compete with Kelee Ringo for playing time at corner with Cooper DeJean and Quiyon Mitchell filling in the rest of the corners.

They then had two picks in the 160s, one being linebacker Smael Mondon out of Georgia. The Philly Dawgs continue to grow as the team now will have eight players who played for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs. Joining him was the Eagles’ first offensive and offensive line selection of the draft in C Drew Kendall out of Boston College. Kendall is the son of former first-round pick Pete Kendell.

With the 181st pick, the Eagles made a somewhat shocking selection, drafting former Ohio State and Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord. McCord is a Philadelphia native, as he played his high school football at St. Joe’s. Prep. He will join and learn behind Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts and the backup quarterback Tanner McKee.

Rounding out the draft, the Eagles grabbed two offensive tackles. Myles Hinton from Michigan and Cameron Williams from Texas. Both Hinton and Williams are huge anchors for this team who already have probably the best tackle duo in the league in Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson.

For the team’s final selection of the weekend, they went with edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland out of Virginia Tech. Powell-Ryland was a bit of a faller this weekend, making it nearly to the seventh round, but his 30 sacks in college rank in the top 30 all-time. Stats like that make him a great potential draft selection to see if they can continue that success at the next level.

Overall, the Eagles nailed a majority of their high-leverage picks in the draft, as they have filled multiple positions that needed to be filled after letting players walk in free agency. While it will be some time to see if any true stars are born, the team has put itself in a great position to continue to contend for Super Bowls, while still growing the farm and developing players.
