The Raptors came to town for the 4th and final game of the season series between the Sixers and Raptors, as the Raptors would complete the 4-0 sweep by handling the Sixers at home.

The 76ers have continued their run of form in these last 2 months by making it 4-24 since the beginning of February, a league worst.

Walker’s 23 not enough

No disrespect to Lonnie Walker, but it is a strong testament to this year’s team when he is playing 36 minutes and is the team’s leading scorer. Ricky Council also recorded 36 minutes with a respectable 17/11/3 performance on the night.

Jared Butler has continued to perform solidly with his increase in minutes as a 76er. He logged 27 minutes on the court and racked up 15 points along with 6 assists. Adem Bona had another good performance as his rookie season has continued to be a bright spot on the season. Bona ended his night with 14 points and 8 rebounds in 27 minutes of action.

Another rookie, Justin Edwards, had a more difficult time on the floor. Edwards scored just 12 points on 6/17 shooting in his 28 minutes. He was able to grab 7 boards to go along with it, but also ended with a +/- of -21.

Jalen Hood-Schifino was the only 76er to finish with a positive +/- on the night, scoring a +5. Hood-Schifino has performed well trying to revive his career here in Philly and continued that tonight with a respectable 18 points on 6/8 shooting.

Can’t stop the RJ Barrett show

Raptors forward RJ Barrett ruled the night for Toronto, dropping 31 points, including 19 in the first half. He shot 12/22 from the field and had 5 rebounds and 5 assists to go along with it. Toronto’s rookie Ja’Kobe Walter also played well, ending his night with 17 points.

Toronto was able to pull away with a big lead in the early stages of the second quarter, going on a 20-5 run to go up 52-38. As the Sixers tried to overcome the deficit, they followed up with another big run stretching from the 2nd to the 3rd quarter, outscoring Philly 20-6. They’d find themselves with their second-largest lead of the night, leading by 21.

What’s next?

Luckily, not much. Only 7 games left on the season for the Sixers, their next being in New York to play the Knicks on Tuesday. It’s a stretch of some good teams for the next week. After the Knicks it’s Milwaukee and Minnesota at home.

Then things get serious for the draft lottery. Miami and Washington are on the road, then the Hawks and Bulls in Philadelphia to round out the season. The team is currently 5th in the lottery, one game ahead of the Nets and 2 games behind the Pelicans.

There’s a very real world where the team doesn’t win a single one of those games, but how much that would really matter for the lottery is hard to say. The Pelicans aren’t primed to be winning much either, so it’s more likely than not that we’re just going to have to place our faith in the lottery balls.
